Since 1986 Gianni Mion has been the CEO of Edizione Holding, the Benetton family’s investment vehicle and one of the largest holding companies in Europe in terms of investment portfolio value. During this period he has taken Edizione from a NAV of approximately €500 million to its current NAV in excess of €7.0 billion.

Before joining Edizione he spent three years involved with the acquisition and intensive restructuring of the Bassetti Group, a holding company with multiple industrial interests, and the development of another family owned industrial group, Fintermica.

Prior to that Gianni Mion was Deputy General Manager of GEPI SPA, a company formed by the Italian government in the 1970s specifically to acquire distressed or bankrupt small and medium sized Italian manufacturing companies and then, through aggressive strategies, to finance them, turn them around and exit predominantly through trade sales.

He received a degree in economics from the University of Venice in 1966
